Sports Massage – Lower Body

2-Day Workshop (14 Contact Hours) $325

Revised and expanded!  I have integrated elements from my Orthopedic Assessment & Functional Anatomy course to create a more comprehensive educational offering.  The number of manual therapy techniques in this course has almost doubled, and you will also learn essential orthopedic assessment tests to identify the causes of the sports injuries.

In addition, information on how to market to athletes and sporting groups will be introduced, so you will leave this course with a plan on how to market yourself to the ideal sporting group for you.

Participants will learn proven therapeutic stretching and deep tissue manual therapy techniques to effectively release the muscles of the lower body. Techniques taught will allow you to deliver deep pressure without significant stress on your hands or fingers.

Once we have learned the techniques, we will discuss the mechanism of injury for the most common conditions and effective manual therapy treatment protocols for each condition:

Hip Stretch

  • Hamstring Strains
  • Patellar Tendonitis
  • IT Band Syndrome
  • Shin Splints
  • Achilles Tendinitis
  • Ankle Sprains
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • And more!

Please bring a massage table, sheets and massage oil/lotion. Students should wear shorts and a t-shirt to allow easy practice of the techniques.
